Aum Mu Ra
Almost entirely self-taught, this musician/designer/dancer's contributions to MPAACT are invaluable. He joined the company in 1992. AI was recruited he jokes. ABut it was a good thing. Carroll, William S.
A founding member of MPAACT, is also a resident playwright and master-storyteller. His MPAACT directing credits include: CONTINUUM:VISIONS FROM YETUNDE, VITAL SIGNS and GIRL TO BE NAMED LATER. Other directing credits include: THE SCOTT JOPLIN STORY for WFMT radio, and SOUL OF THE GAME for Duncan Y @ Field Museum. Frederick, LaNisa
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, and made the move to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago too many years ago to count. It is there she met fellow MPAACT member Mignon McPherson Nance who graciously took her under her wings and directed her in Crumbs from the Table of Joy. Gaskin, Danjuma
Joined MPAACT in 1992 as a percussionist for the touring company. He has studied various traditional percussion forms from the African diaspora including Cuban, Colombian, Peruvian, Brazilian, as well as traditional West-African forms.
